One of our startups from the 2017 Digital Health Acceleration Program Teamscope has officially expanded to the European market.
Teamscope is an easy-to-use, secure mobile platform for electronic data capture in clinical research. It is a full self-service iOS and Android application for research data collection. The app allows researchers to build their data collection forms and customize them with skip logic, calculations, and field validation. It is specifically designed for patient data collection, offering robust security and compliance with Good Clinical Practice. Teamscope aims to enable medical research wherever it’s needed. Researchers on Teamscope may view an audit trail of all changes to research data. This allows them to maintain full accountability of their teams. Permission-based access management ensures that unauthorized people can not access research data. This prevents data from being exposed and manipulated. Through its robust data encryption, Teamscope offers secure and scalable cloud storage for research data.
When teamscope launched, it was mainly focused on countries in the global south to enable medical researchers in these areas to conduct clinical research by using their smartphones. Three friends who founded Teamscope wanted to help medical researchers manage their patient data more effectively. The goal of Teamscope was to eliminate the chaos caused by paper forms and to enable health professionals to perform better research.
Following their success in both African and South American regions, Teamscope is now expanding its operations to offer its unique approach to mobile data collection throughout Europe. Teamscope has had a presence in Europe as of the second quarter of 2018. The first users were in the UK and Sweden. It aims to expand its coverage to all of Europe. International partners like the PharmAccess Foundation continue to extend their work conveniently to more African countries using the Teamscope mobile application.
“Web-based electronic data capture solutions had their surge in the late 90s and 2000s. Many of these vendors still don’t have mobile applications for offline or on-the-go data collection. The frustration from slow and outdated interfaces plus web-only data entry is causing a shift back to Excel and paper data collection.”
