About

Food waste is one of the biggest inefficiencies in the food system – and one of the biggest untapped opportunities. Across the value chain, from production to retail and consumption, large volumes of resources are lost or underutilised. At the same time, new technologies, business models, and circular approaches are emerging – but often in isolation. To unlock real impact, these solutions need to connect with industry, scale beyond pilots, and be embedded into existing systems. That’s where this network comes in.

The Food Circularity Network is part of the Danish Grønt Udviklings- og Demonstrationsprogram (GUDP), supporting green innovation across the food sector. Led by Rockstart, the network brings together startups, corporates, researchers, and public stakeholders to accelerate the transition towards a more circular food system.

Reduce waste, unlock value, and move from intention to implementation.

The network is open to stakeholders across the food ecosystem, including startups working on food waste reduction, circular ingredients, and resource optimisation, food producers, manufacturers, retailers, and logistics players, investors focused on sustainable food systems, researchers and academic institutions, and public sector actors and ecosystem enablers. When registering for the network, pick which stakeholder type applies to you and let us know your involvement in food circularity – that’s it!

We connect the right people around the right opportunities. Through a mix of curated sessions, matchmaking, and ongoing community engagement, the network works to surface real, industry-relevant challenges within food waste and circularity, connect startups with corporates ready to test and adopt solutions, turn side streams and surplus into new value chains, share insights, use cases, and learnings across the ecosystem, and support collaboration that leads to actual implementation – not just discussion.

No problem! The Food Circularity Network is open to participants worldwide as long as you have an interest in the Danish food circularity ecosystem. We’re building a diverse, international community passionate about reducing food waste, circularity, and impact.

GUDP (Grønt Udviklings- & Demonstrationsprogram), or the Green Development and Demonstration Program, supports innovative, sustainable projects across Denmark’s food sector. These projects focus on combining green solutions with economic sustainability to drive the green transition. The initiative is managed by the Danish Agriculture Agency (Landbrugsstyrelsen). The Food Circularity Network is part of GUDP, led by Rockstart to bring together startups, corporates, researchers, and public stakeholders to accelerate the transition towards a more circular food system. You can learn about the Green Development and Demonstration Program on their website.

There are no financial costs to participate in the Food Circularity Network. Just your time, dedication and active participation. We value your contribution and expertise in building a more circular food system!

Upon signing up, you will be subscribed to the Food Circularity Network newsletter, keeping you up-to-date with upcoming events and initiatives.
