Last week, the City of Amsterdam, the Energy Transition Campus Amsterdam (ETCA), and Rockstart kicked off LeapSprong Amsterdam—a program designed to accelerate sustainable solutions and foster a circular energy system specifically tailored for the Port of Amsterdam and the wider Metropolitan Region Amsterdam (MRA).
LeapSprong unites startups, government entities, and industry experts to address the unique energy challenges the region faces. By cultivating a collaborative environment, this program empowers startups to develop and scale transformative solutions that significantly contribute to sustainability and innovation. The first edition welcomes 6 startups: SkyTree, Spark e-Fuels, CarbonOrO, UP Catalyst, Parastruct, and Accu’t.
The LeapSprong Kick-Off Days event featured a range of activities aimed at facilitating collaboration among local ecosystem partners. Networking opportunities and engaging discussions centered on the urgent energy challenges confronting our communities, emphasizing that collective action is essential to foster innovative solutions.
The involvement of local ecosystem partners—including ROM InWest, NZKG, AMS Institute, the Amsterdam Chemistry Network, Amsterdam Trade and Innovate, and, of course, the Port of Amsterdam and MRA—showcases the collaborative spirit that defines the LeapSprong program. Each partner contributes valuable expertise and resources, amplifying the program’s impact on the local landscape.
